Our campus for the 2026-2027 school year will consist of 9th and 10th graders.

By 2029, we will have grades 9 through 12.

The Magnet Contract outlines the expectations for the performance and continuation of attendance for all students participating in any Magnet Program or School. 

The primary topics addressed in this contract are:

• Enrollment Standards

• Attendance Standards
• Behavior Standards

All students are expected to abide by the expectations outlined in the Magnet Contract.

5. Acknowledge and Sign

6. Click on "Save & Exit" **NOTE: DO NOT click "Save & Continue"**

Once you accept your seat to attend South CTA, you'll receive an email with the google form to complete your course selection. You may also contact our School Counselors for more information. To find their contact information, please visit our Counselor Corner page, where the contact information for the appropriate counselor for your students academy will be listed.

Because we are a Career and Technical Academy, we will not be offering NIAA Sport. However, students can be enrolled at South CTA and also try out and play NIAA at their zoned school.

South CTA has a late bus (Monday through Thursday) for students who normally qualify for CCSD transportation.

Our school day is split between Odd and Even days. Students attend 4 classes each day and will have 8 classes total.

At South CTA, our students stay active and engaged through a diverse selection of clubs and intramural sports, all of which are detailed in our Clubs & Activities section. We empower student leadership by allowing you to establish new clubs tailored to your unique interests with administrative approval.

Additionally, every student belongs to a CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) specifically aligned with their CTE Program, providing professional networking and competitive opportunities. South CTA hosts a variety of energetic dances and assemblies throughout the school year to celebrate our school spirit. Students also participate in our signature Academy Competitions, where everyone belongs to either the Innovation Academy or the Leadership Academy based on their program area.

These academies compete year-round to earn points, all striving for the ultimate honor: winning the prestigious Vanguard Cup.

If your student hasn't yet earned high school credit for Computer Science and Applications in middle school, we strongly recommend registering for summer school to complete this requirement. For current CCSD students, simply contact your middle school counselor once registration opens to enroll; non-CCSD students should reach out directly to the Nevada Learning Academy (NVLA) to sign up for their online summer sessions.

Please keep in mind that there is a tuition fee for summer school. Outside of the computer science requirement, we generally do not recommend taking extra summer courses unless a student is credit deficient and needs to catch up to stay on track for graduation.

South CTA does not require school uniforms; instead, we follow the CCSD Standard Student Dress Code. This allows students to express their individuality while maintaining a respectful and focused learning environment.

However, because we are a career-technical academy, many of our programs include Professional Dress Days to prepare students for their future industries. Whether it's scrubs for medical programs or business attire for leadership tracks, specific requirements and dates will be communicated directly to students by their program teachers.
