What is the School Organizational Team (SOT)?
The School Organizational Team (SOT) is a group of elected parents, staff, and students (for secondary schools) who help shape the direction of South CTA by providing input on key decisions.
What the SOT Does
The SOT does not manage daily school operations but plays an advisory role in:
-
Budget and staffing priorities
-
Strategic planning and instructional goals
-
School Performance Plan (SPP)
-
Family engagement and school culture
Meetings are held monthly, and agendas are posted publicly to ensure transparency.
Who Can Join?
-
Parents/Guardians – elected by other parents
-
Teachers and Support Staff – elected by peers
-
Students – elected or appointed though student council
Terms last for one year, and elections are typically held in the fall. More information about elections will be coming soon.
Being part of the SOT is a great way to stay informed, represent the voice of families, and help shape our growing school.
